Bio

Lindsey Jacobs, PhD, MSPH, ABPP, is a licensed clinical psychologist with board certification in Geropsychology. Her clinical and research interests include third-wave cognitive behavioral therapy for older adults and caregivers, suicide prevention in late life, and program development to improve access and quality of care for underserved older adults. Dr. Jacobs is also passionate about the delivery and study of competency-based training and mentorship in clinical psychology and geropsychology. Her research has been funded by VA VISN 7 Research Development, Department of Defense, VA Rehabilitation Research and Development, and the Deep South Resource Center for Minority Aging Research.

Dr. Jacobs is an Associate Professor and the Director of Clinical Training in the Department of Psychology at The University of Alabama. She has held a number of local and national leadership roles, including serving as Chair for the Council of Professional Geropsychology Training Programs, Lead Convener for the Gerontological Society of America’s Mental Health Practice and Aging Interest Group, and Early Career Member-at-Large on the Executive Council of the American Board of Geropsychology. Dr. Jacobs teaches Geropsychology Practicum and Introduction to Ethics.
