Psi Chi is the national honor society in Psychology. The University of Alabama’s charter chapter started in 1929. It was founded for the purpose of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining scholarship in, and advancing the science, of psychology. A student must have a psychology major or minor, have a 3.5 grade point average in psychology and a 3.3 grade point average overall; have at least nine hours credit in psychology; and be voted in by the chapter to attain membership in Psi Chi.
