Bio

Thompson (Tom) E. Davis III, Ph.D. is the Department Chair and Professor of Psychology (Child Clinical Concentration) at the University of Alabama, and an adjunct professor of psychology at Louisiana State University.  His clinical and research interests include One-Session Treatment (OST) for specific phobia and other exposure therapies as well as broader transdiagnostic issues related to developmental psychopathology.  He has published widely in the areas of specific phobia and anxiety in children, and also has interests in the intersection of anxiety and autism. He is on the editorial boards of the Journal of Anxiety Disorders, the Journal of Psychopathology and Behavioral Assessment, Cognitive Therapy and Research, the Journal of Clinical Child & Adolescent Psychology, and Clinical Child and Family Psychology Review.  He received his PhD from Virginia Tech and completed his clinical internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
