The Elizabeth Young Lacey Endowed Graduate Fellowship in Psychology

The Elizabeth Young Lacey Endowed Graduate Fellowship in Psychology was established in 1998 through a bequest in Elizabeth Lacey’s last will and testament.

We have little information about Elizabeth Lacey. However, she must have been a student at UA, probably a psychology graduate student. Her bequest states that she wished to express her appreciation and love for the University and the psychology department. Elizabeth Young Lacey was born in 1916 and died in 1997 at the age of 81 years.

Elizabeth Lacey left this extremely generous gift to “promote the education of deserving graduate students in cognitive/ experimental psychology.” Thus, each year, the psychology department uses funds from the Lacey endowment to support one or more students in the experimental PhD program.
