Research Interests:

Ted (Edward) Barker's research interests focus on the development, and prevention, of different types of antisocial behaviors and related adjustment problems, in childhood and adolescence. He is particularly interested in the role of biological risk, and the role of parents, peers, and the broader socio-cultural context for child and adolescent development. His recent research has examined the identification of different types of developmentally problem youth, their social (bullying and victimization), familial (SES, parenting behaviors), and biological (neurocognitive) contexts, as well as associated adjustment problems (self-harm). He has also examined the long-term effects of preventive interventions.
